Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road
Gas is transported under pressure as a liquid in tankers and cylinders. Any accident while handling LPG/ Propane during processing, storage or transport is always accompanied by one or combination of the following: 1-Fire 2-Explosion 3-Spillage of LPG
This course is intended for all drivers who transport hazardous goods in tanker vehicles or tank containers on public roads.
The course emphasizes the importance of drivers paying close attention to the road and its conditions, as well as how their behaviors and decisions can factor in dangerous situations.
The courses equip drivers with information so that they:
- Are aware of the hazards arising in the carriage of dangerous goods
- Are aware of dangerous goods legislation
- Can take steps to reduce the likelihood of an incident taking place
- Can take all necessary measures for their own safety and that of the public and the environment
- Can limit the effects of any incident that does occur
- Have an understanding of the actions to take in the event of an incident
