About the course:

The aim of this course is to provide a basic understanding of the features of drilling a well and the fundamental principles involved in maintaining well control.

The course focuses on the driller’s role in kick detection, shutting in the well, monitoring the pressure once the well is shut in and assisting in the well-kill operation.

The Courses are designed to provide position- or role-specific training and assessment to assure individuals have the competence to fulfill their well control responsibilities in the oil and gas industry.

Audience:

A Well Control course is offered at various role-specific levels for drill crew, drilling supervisors, well engineers, OIMs, and others.

What will you learn from this course?

During the course, participants will gain knowledge and understanding of well control for surface and subsea installations at the driller or supervisor level that meets international well control forum (IWCF) standard.

How will this course be presented?

The course is delivered over 5 days through presentation of a series of interactive lectures supported by videos and animations, supplemented by a classroom workbook and further self-study exercises and practical work on a drilling simulator.
